Als donderslag bij heldere hemel is Eddy Amoo, zanger van soulband The Real Thing, overleden. De groep was vooral in de seventies succesvol met hits als “You To Me Are Everything” (1976) en “ Can You Feel The Force” (1979). De band werd in hun eigenland de “zwarte Beatles” genoemd. Van de groep zijn enkel Eddy`s broer Chris en Dave Smith over. Het tweetal laat weten: “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our brother and inspiration, Eddy Amoo, who passed away on 23rd February, age 74.” De doodsoorzaak wordt onderzocht.
