Australië heeft zijn inzending bekend gemaakt voor het Eurovisie Songfestival. Na een interne selectie is de keuze gevallen op de vijfkoppige band Voyager met het nummer ‘Promise’. Veiligheidsriemen vast en zet je schrap voor een potje stevige catchy muziek! Australië komt uit in de tweede halve finale in Liverpool op donderdag 11 mei. Voyager is een metalband uit Perth en werd opgericht in 1999. Vorig jaar deed Voyager ook al een poging om mee te mogen doen, maar eindigde in de preselectie als 2e, drie puntjes achter Sheldon Riley’s bijdrage ‘Not The Same’.
Voyager heeft dus iets wel iets met het Songfestival. Frontman Daniel Estrin legt uit: “As a long-time Eurovision fan, this is the pinnacle – Voyager gets to play the greatest show on earth! Our song Promise is made for the Eurovision stage and collectively we feel it’s one of our best yet. We filmed the music video in both the city of Perth and beautiful parts of Western Australia to showcase the majestic beauty of our home state. Eurovisionation, we are coming!!!
