Na zijn platina debuutalbum ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ uit 2019, bleef het lang stil rond Tom Walker. Hij heeft 3 miljard streams op zijn naam staan, maar de liedjes die hij schreef voor zijn tweede album werden allemaal afgekeurd door zijn team. Dat deed pijn, maar inspireerde hem ook, vertelt de Britse singer-songwriter. Maar uiteindelijk ontstond toch een prachtig nieuw nummer: ‘Burn’.
“The day I wrote Burn, I thought ‘F*ck everyone, I’m sick of this’. I scrapped a whole album and decided to go back to making songs that I love. Songs that make the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. I will die for these songs. You’ve got to ignore what everyone else wants from you, and you’ve got to back yourself,” aldus Tom Walker.
