Vandaag openen we de Kluis van de Flops voor Chicago. De Amerikaanse band bracht in 1970 de singel ‘Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?’ uit. Het nummer werd geschreven en gezongen door Robert Lamm. Deze Chicago bandlid zou veel meer nummers schrijven, zoals ‘Questions 67 & 68’, “Beginnings”, “25 or 6 to 4”, “Saturday in the Park”en “Dialogue (Part I & II)”. Het nummer ‘Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?’ was afkomstig van hun debuut LP ‘Chicago Transit Authority’ uit 1969.
Robert Lamm vertelde, dat ‘Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?’ het eerste nummer was, dat voor het album werd geschreven. “I was a teenager walking down the street in Brooklyn, New York where I grew up. I walked by a movie theater and there was an usher standing outside taking a cigarette break. I said to him, ‘Hey man, what time is it?’ and he said, ‘Does anybody really know what time it is?’ I remembered that when I was trying to write this sort of Beatle-esque shuffle and just explore the idea of ‘Does anybody really know what time it is?,” aldus Lamm. Het nummer werd een top tien hit in Amerika en Canada. In Nederland bleef het bij een Tipparade notering. Jammer.
