Nieuwe muziek uit Liverpool! Niet alleen de stad waar The Beatles hun basis hadden, maar o.a. ook Elvis Costello, Orchestral Manouvres in the Dark en Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Ook de nieuwe band STONE heeft Liverpool als thuis basis. De rockers lanceren hun debuut EP ‘Punkadonk’, waarvan ‘Money’(Hope ain’t gone) de single is. De track is deze week uitgeroepen tot de nieuwe KINKXL. STONE tekende eerder dit jaar een platencontract bij Universal Music en zijn op BBC Radio uitgeroepen tot BBC Radio 1 Future Artist.
STONE noemt zichzelf ‘de ondergrondse stem van de verloren jeugd’. Over de single zegt de band: ‘Money’ is a very special song for the band, as it’s the first track where the lyrics were co-written between Fin (Power) and Elliot. The song shares both of their emotions and perspectives on the world today and the anxieties we face. The song is a statement of emotion about the state of this planet and how it feels growing up into adulthood in the current climate. Fin and Elliot (Gill) come from very different lives, and the mix of their lyrics makes the song the force it is. We want the song to showcase love, hate and hope for the future.”
