Van haar album ‘A holly dolly Christmas’, haar eerste Kerst plaat sinds dertig jaar, komt vandaag de video uit van haar nieuwe single. Een animatie clip is er gemaakt voor Pretty paper’, een duet met Willie Nelson. Met recht kunnen we hier spreken over een gouwe ouwe, want Willie pende de song al in 1963. Dolly Parton: “I’ve always loved Willie’s songs. And Willie wrote ‘Pretty Paper’—actually Roy Orbison had the biggest hit on it—but I loved the song the first time I ever heard it and I thought that in myself, if I ever do another Christmas album, I want to do ‘Pretty Paper.’ So I called Willie and said ‘I’m recording ‘Pretty Paper’ on my Christmas album. Would you be willing to sing with me on it?'” Gelukkig zei Nelson hier volmondig ‘ja’ op. “So I’m proud of that as anything I have on the whole Christmas album….Willie is a really, really good guy and I just love him. I just think he’s written some of the greatest things,” aldus de country zangeres.
