AJ Mitchell brak in 2018 door en heeft drie jaar later een miljard streams en meer dan zeven miljoen maandelijkse luisteraars op Spotify op zijn naam staan. Zowel Vevo en MTV en als Variety tipten hem als upcoming artist. In 2019 bracht AJ zijn EP Slow Dance uit (met daarop de gelijknamige track met Ava Max) en vandaag is er zijn debuutalbum SKYVIEW. Op het album staat ook zijn nieuwste single Hi-Lo.
