Everything But The Girl is terug! Op 21 april verschijnt hun nieuwe studioalbum ‘Fuse’. Hun laatste LP dateert alweer van 24 jaar terug: ‘Temperamental’. Eén voorproefje kreeg je al met de release van de track ‘Nothing left to lose’. Vandaag dropt de band, bestaande uit Ben Watt en Tracey Thorn, de single ‘Caution in the wind’. Het duo schreef het nummer zelf. Tracey: “Lyrically, “Caution To The Wind: is a simple song about arrival and seizing the moment, so with the music we tried to capture the feeling of a perpetual point in time.”
“I let the words quickly collapse and loop inside the production,” vult Ben aan. “The drums emerge and repeat, and everything then starts to unfold in cycles of anticipation and release. I guess it’s just classic nightclub tension and euphoria.” Everything But The Girl werd bekend in de eighties met hits als als ‘Each and everyone’ en de mega klapper ‘Missing’.
