‘A very bad fun idea’ is de nieuwe single van Years & Years. Achter deze naam gaat tegenwoordig alleen nog Olly Alexander schuil. De nieuwe singel van Olly is o.a. de opvolger van ‘100% Pure love’. We kennen Years & Years vooral van ‘Desire’ en ‘King’, twee songs die internationaal succesvol waren. ‘A Very Bad Fun Idea’ is te vinden op de soundtrack van de nieuwe coming-of-age film “Bonus Track”. Hoe de track tot stand kwam, legt Olly Alexander uit op Instagram: “It’s the result of a conversation I had with Josh o’Connor many years ago about a film he was developing called Bonus Track. He asked me if I would be interested in making a song for it. I love Josh and I immediately said yes. This song is about the extreme emotion we feel at a pivotal moment in our lives and the lengths we go to for the people we love.” Met ‘A very bad fun idea’ heeft Years & Years eindelijk weer eens kans op een notering in de Hitzound 40.
