Vandaag lanceert Taylor Swift haar langverwachte nieuwe album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’. Voor de eerste singel van de plaat, ‘Fortnight’, riep de 34-jarige zangeres de hulp in van Post Malone. De track is deze week uitgeroepen tot de nieuwe Hitzound Smash.
Aan het elfde album van Swiftwerkt ook Florence Welch (vanFlorence and the Machine) mee. “I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever,” aldus Swift, die in februari nog haar Grammy’s voor Best Pop Vocal Album en Album of the Year (beide voor ‘Midnights’) in ontvangst nam. “I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight.”
Twee uur na de release van het album verraste Taylor haar fans met ‘THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY’. Op Instagram liet de ongekend populaire artiest weten: “It’s a 2am surprise: ‘THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT’ is a secret DOUBLE album. I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours.”
Op 4, 5 en 6 juli staat Taylor Swift met haar Eras Tour in een uitverkocht John Cruijff ArenA, haar eerste Nederlandse shows sinds 2015.
