Zes jaar na hun laatste album ‘Wildness’ kondigt Snow Patrol een nieuwe plaat aan! Frontman Gary Lightbody meldt dat op 29 mei het album ‘The Beginning’ wordt uitgebracht. De titelsong zal als eerste singel van de plaat verschijnen. “This album took us on many uncharted routes, with sometimes weird and sometimes wonderful turns, and so it’s hard not to think of the start of this album as a new beginning,” meldt Lightbody op social media. “We honour the past, deeply. But while we honour the past we also want to cherish the present and look to the future. So this is the beginning of something, and we are so excited to share it with you all.”
‘The Beginning’ wordt ook het eerste album sinds de band twee leden verloor, toen werd aangekondigd dat drummer Johnny Quinn en bassist Paul Wilson de rockband zouden verlaten. Vorig jaar bleven alleen Lightbody, Johnny McDaid en Nathan Connolly over als leden.
