Nessa Barrett is in Nederland nog redelijk onbekend, maar alle kans dat haar single ‘Die first’ een hit zou kunnen gaan worden. De ballad is opgedragen aan een overleden vriend, Cooper Norriega, en staat op haar debuut album ‘Young forever’. “Life is so short,” zegt Nessa over haar single. Hoewel het aanvankelijk de bedoeling was, dat het lied zou gaan over verlies, maar dat idee liet ze toch los. “It quickly turned into a love song to the most important people in my life. I don’t ever want to think about not having them by my side. I think that’s one of the most beautiful things about this song; everyone has someone, or something even, that they can’t imagine life without.”
