‘Be The One’ is de nieuwe single van Jason DeRulo. De track van de Amerikaanse spierbundel is afkomstig van zijn vijfde studioalbum ‘2Sides’. De eerste helft, dat 6 songs telt, is nu uitgebracht op een EP. De tweede helft volgt in begin januari. Waarom hij heeft gekozen voor deze manier van uitbrengen van nieuwe muziek, legt hij hier uit:
“I want to do it in doses so people will hear the songs. I still think it’s nice to give people a body of work; I’m a touring artist and I like forming a concept on the tour which comes from the album title.” Track als “Swalla”, “If I’m Lucky”, “Tip Toe” en “Goodbye” staan niet op het nieuwe album, want “those songs have had their time. Even though putting them on an album would make it go platinum in two seconds, it’s not about the numbers. These are brand new songs, brand new vibes.”
