Zeven jaar terug werkte ze al aan deze song, maar nu is ‘Close to you’ van Gracie Abrams echt áf zoals ze het wilde en uitgebracht op singel. “It finally felt right to rework and include on this album,” aldus de Amerikaanse zangeres. Het album, waar de track straks op te vinden is, heet ‘The secret of us’ en wordt op 21 juni uitgebracht. Gracie vervolgt haar statement: “I’m really grateful for the encouragement from everyone online who let me know they still want to hear the song after all this time — it makes me want to dance with them, and I can’t wait till we get to do that.” Intussen bliojkt ‘Close to you’ van Gracie Abrams goede zaken te doen in de Amerikaanse en Britse Spotify charts.
