Als je wereldwijd al meer dan 1,5 biljoen streams hebt vergaard, dan ben je echt geen kleine meneer meer : Gavin James! Vandaag komt zijn nieuwe single ‘Man on the moon’ uit. De release van de Ierse singer-songwriter uit Dublin volgt op ‘I miss you’ (Paddy`s song), een emotionele ode aan zijn oom, die onlangs door corona in eenzaamheid overleed. Gavin James brak door in 2015 met zijn album ‘Live at Whelans’. Met de Mark mcCabe remix van ‘Nervous’ scoorde hij in 2016 een top tien hit in de Nederlandse Top Veertig.
De nieuwe single is geproduceerd door Gavin en Ollie Green (Freya Ridings) en gemixt door Serban Ghenea (Taylor Swift). Gavin: “For ‘Man On The Moon’ I tried to picture someone on the moon, thinking that they are all alone and not realising that the whole world is thinking about them. It’s about looking after the people you love because some days, they may feel like they have no one to talk to. In particular this year, people might feel more disconnected than usual from their friends and family. This song is a gentle reminder that you are never alone”.
