Misschien ken je dit Ierse duo al van het nummer ‘Glue’ uit 2017. Met deze track had Bicep veel succes. Het nummer werd bij DJ Mag (Best of British) uitgeroepen tot Track of the Year. Maar anders toch zeker van ‘Apricots’, dat onlangs uitgeroepen werd tot 3FM Megahit. De nieuwe single heet ‘Sundial’. Bicep zegt over de nieuwe track: “This is probably one of the simplest tracks on the album, it grew from a faulty Jupiter 6 arp recording. Our trigger isn’t working properly and the arp skips notes randomly. This was a small segment taken from a recording of Andy just playing the arp live whilst we were just trying to figure out what was going wrong. We actually loved what it had produced and wrote some chords around it, guided by the feeling of this recording.”
In het nummer is een sample verwerkt van ‘Jab Andhera Hota Hai’, uit de Bollywood film Raja Rani (1973) en afkomstig van Asha Bhosle & Bhupinder Singh. Op 22 januari komt het nieuwe Bicep album ‘Isles’ uit. Intussen staat ‘Sundial’ vers op de Spotify playlist Brand New.
