Na het zwoele ‘There’d better be a mirrorball’ komen Arctic Monkeys vandaag met nieuwe muziek! De verse single van de band uit Sheffield heet ‘Body paint’. Beide nummers vind je op de nieuwe plaat ‘The car’. Deze zevende plaat verschijnt vier jaar na ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ en telt 10 songs. Frontman Alex Turner van Arctic Monkeys over de nieuwe plaat: “On this record, sci-fi is off the table. We are back to Earth… I think we’ve got closer to a better version of a more dynamic overall sound with this record. The strings on this record come in and out of focus and that was a deliberate move and hopefully everything has its own space. There’s time the band comes to the front and then the strings come to the front.” ‘The car’ is geproduceerd door vaste producer James Ford en verschijnt op 21 oktober. De video voor de nieuwe single ‘Body paint’ is geregisseerd door Brook Linder en gefilmd in londen en Missouri.
