De frontman van Years and Years werkt mee aan de nieuwe Britse campagne Torch Songs, gericht tegen depressie. Olly Alexander leedt eerder ook aan een depressie: ‘It’s so important to talk. The biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK is suicide. That’s a mindblowing statistic. And I just don’t know if people are aware of that. It needs to be addressed. It’s difficult to talk about these things, it really is. But verbalising things is part of the process of tackling something. I would encourage people to talk.” Het blijkt dat muziek een gunstige uitwerking heeft op depressies. Years & Years hebben voor Torch Songs het nummer BOTH SIDES NOW opgenomen.
