X Ambassadors lanceren vandaag hun nieuwe single ‘My own monster’. Het nummer van de Amerikaanse groep kwam tot stand met producer Andrew Wells (Young the Giant, Halsey, Fitz and the Tantrums). “It’s a song about someone who has a voice inside their head”, aldus X Ambassadors frontman Sam Nelson Harris. “There’s something evil about the voice, but the person is attracted to that and ultimately decides, ‘I’m going to embrace this awful thing, let it be my best friend and let it protect me. What could possibly happen?’” In 2014 werd X Ambassadors ontdekt door Imagine Dragons en werd door hen op sleeptouw genomen. Hun debuutplaat ‘VHS’ leverde hits op als ‘Renegades’ en ‘Unsteady’ en zorgden voor een internationale doorbraak.
