Deze week is de single ‘Sanity’ uitgekomen van Nick Murphy, voorheen bekend als Chet Faker, uit. De singer-songwriter gaat al een aantal jaren mee in de muziekscene en dat is niet onopgemerkt gebleven, zo heeft hij meerdere singles als ‘No Diggity’, waar ruim 100 miljoen streams op zijn. Daarnaast stond Murphy op mega festivals als Coachella en Glastonbury. De soulvolle zang van Murphy in combinatie met mooie piano melodieën, synth lijntjes en bedachtzame lyrics zal op 26 april samenkomen op het album ‘Run Fast Sleep Naked’.
Murphy reisde vier jaar lang de wereld rond met een microfoon in zijn koffer en nam op waar hij de inspiratie voelde. Zo legt hij uit: “It’s almost like I was finding different shapes and colors from around the world, and then bringing them back and putting them all together, if you sit in one space for a long period of time, you get settled and stop experiencing the world in a new way, there’s a kind of power in leaping into the void without set structures and systems in place.”
