Niemand minder dan Iggy Pop is te horen op I Wanna Be Your Slave, de nieuwe single van Måneskin. De Italiaanse band, die meer dan 51 miljoen maandelijkse luisteraars heeft op Spotify, is vereerd dat de zanger met hen wilde samenwerken. ‘It was such an honor that he loved our music and wanted to work with us. It was touching seeing him sing I Wanna Be Your Slave live in front of us, it was very powerful to see such a big artist being so open and friendly. We all grew up listening to his music and he inspired us to starting up a band, it’s still unbelievable for us that we had the chance to get to know him and make music together.’ Iggy Pop is zelf iets korter maar net zo enthousiast over de samenwerking, want: ‘Måneskin gave me a big hot buzz.’
De rockband, met hitsingles Beggin’ en Zitti e Buoni onder de arm, staat op 4 september ook op Paaspop in Schijndel. Het optreden wordt hun eerste volledige show op Nederlandse bodem.
