Vandaag is de nieuwe single ‘Wild Blue’ van John Mayer in première gegaan. Het nummer, deze week vers in de nieuwste editie van de TIP 40, is afkomstig van zijn album ‘Sob Rock’. “I’m only interested if I get to put new paints on the canvas. And if my way of doing it at this time was, literally no one’s looking,” vertelde Mayer eerder tegenover Zane Lowe over zijn nieuwe LP. “This one’s called Sob Rock because you just would never have imagined that was the name of the record. And I’m going to go so deep into my fantasy. I live, half of me is in this fantasy all the time now, especially as I’m watching the promo stuff come together.”
‘Sob Rock’ is John Mayers eerste soloproject in vier jaar, nadat hij in 2017 ‘The Search For Everything’ uitbracht. In juni verscheen de eerste single van ‘Sob Rock:’ ‘Last Train Home’.
