John Legend heeft een verse single uitgebracht. Het nummer heet simpelweg START. Dat zou te maken kunnen hebben met het feit dat hij en zijn vrouw Chrissy Teigen ouders zijn geworden. In april werd hun dochter Luna Simone Stephens geboren. De start van een nieuw leven, zeg maar……Maar START heeft toch een ander thema. Het gevoelige nummer is afkomstig van de soundtrack voor de film “Southside With You”, dat draait om de eerste date van Barack en Michelle Obama. John Legend over de single: “I was really in the feeling of the film. The score was already set, so there was this music playing, leading into where my song would come. I wanted to write something that was intimate, because the whole film is very intimate to me.
