Hij beproefde zijn succes voor het eerst bij de achtste editie van Britain’s Got Talent: James Smith. Als 15-jarige zong hij zo op het podium van de populaire TV Talentenshow songs van o.a. Nina Simone en Gnarls Barkley. Nu, enkele jaren later, schrijft hij zijn eigen nummers. Zoals zijn nieuwste singel ‘Common people’, intussen al veel gedraaid door DJ Rob Stenders op Radio Veronica. Terecht! Over de track zegt hij: “’Common People’ is essentially the group of which I’d class myself under. I think the term ‘common’ is recognised as a word with bad connotations, but I really see it as a beautiful thing. It gives me a sense of community and peace!
