Heel opmerkelijk: de beginklanken van Deep Purple`s nieuwste track begint met zoetgevooisde violen. Niet bepaald, wat je zou verwachten!
Het nummer is een lofzang op onze planeet, dat op een kantelpunt staat. Ian Gillan over het ankomende album: “Whoosh is an onomatopoeic word that, when viewed through one end of a radio-telescope, describes the transient nature of humanity on Earth; and, through the other end from a closer perspective, illustrates the career of Deep Purple.”
