Come on, speak to me, you know it helps, share your thoughts with me, lay it all out now. Brother look at me you’re not yourself, put it all on me, lay it all out now. You know you’ve got me and I’ve got you, but I’ve just never seen this side of you. You know you’ve got me and I’ve got you. Brother you do, brother you do.”

Volgens Dan Owen krijgen jongens en mannen al vroeg de boodschap mee dat ze hun emoties vooral voor zichzelf moeten houden: “Boys and men shouldn’t be vulnerable, they’re expected to go on as if nothing happened – even when it tears them apart inside. But if you don’t deal with your problems, internally you turn into stone, until eventually you completely break down.”
