Ooit begon hij als zanger in een kerkkoor in Liverpool: BANNERS! Hij ambieerde echter een carrière in de popmuziek en joeg die in 2015 na door naar Toronto in Canada te emigreren. Een verstandige keuze, want na enige tijd kon hij de vruchten plukken van zijn harde werk. Met ‘Someone To You’ scoorde BANNERS in 2020 een wereldwijde hit. Zo ook in Nederland, waar de singer-songwriter er een gouden plaat voor binnensleepte én een #1 Airplay positie behaalde. Nu is Michael Joseph Nelson, aka BANNERS , terug met een nieuwe single: ‘Tell You I Love You’.
