Eigenlijk is Ashe’s ‘Moral of the Story’ al twee jaartjes terug uitgebracht, maar de single is opnieuw uit. Maar dan in een remake, mét de hulp van Niall Horan. Het nummer werd gebruikt voor de Netflix film To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (2020) en geproduceerd door Noah Conrad en Finneas O’Connell (de broer van Billie Eilish). Ashe schreef eerder voor Demi Lovato het nummer ‘You Don’t Do It for Me Anymore’ en sleepte goud binnen voor ‘Let You Get Away’ met Shaun Frank.
Over de samenwerking met Horan zegt de Amerikaanse zangeres: “Niall’s voice on ‘Moral of the Story’ feels so natural and organic. He’s absurdly talented. It feels like he was in the room the day we wrote it, as if he had been there all along and I just didn’t know it,” Ashe said in a press statement. “This is the most personal song I’ve ever written/released and I needed to know Niall was going to treat it with the same vulnerability and care. He absolutely exceeded those expectations.”
