Skunk Anansie heeft vandaag “Charlie Big Potato” uitgebracht, na “Weak” de tweede track van het carrièreoverzicht 25LIVE@25 waarmee de band haar vijfentwintigjarig bestaan viert en dat geheel in stijl op 25 januari 2019 uitkomt. Charlie Big Potato is de openingstrack van zowel 25LIVE@25 als het monumentale derde album “Post-Orgasmic Chill”.
De track, die opent met een pulserende synth beat en dan uitbarst in een Zeppelin-achtige gitaarriff, is al sinds het begin een van de absolute livefavorieten. Gitarist Ace: ‘It’s always been a huge live favourite with our audience, where it will either smash the gates open at the start of a set or destroy the stage at the end. It’s a song that seems to take on many elements of the band musically, emotionally and lyrically. Charlie sums up a lot of our attributes in one go. It’s also probably the one I am most proud of.’
